Description

Cherrytree Download is a feature-rich, hierarchical note taking program that resembles the Wiki and allows you to keep track of your notes, bookmarks, source codes, and other information in one place.

This is both straightforward and intricate. It’s easy to use because it presents a complete user interface that can be understood by everyone. The complexity of the program lies in the mechanisms operating beneath its user-friendly front end, as the number of features it offers is extensive.

It functions similarly to other applications of its kind. You’ll make a couple of “nodes,” like folders on a tree, to show the hierarchy (1, 1a, 1b, 2, 2a, 2b, 2c etc). A node functions similarly to a web page, allowing you to insert any information you wish. The notes can be written in a variety of formats, including text, links, photos, tables, lists, files, and more.

In addition to standard text editing features like copy/paste and spell check, the in-built note editor also includes features like syntax highlighting, exporting to a wide variety of formats, and alignment tools.

There are two points that need to be made. To begin, you should know that the interface can be altered to your liking by selecting a new theme and modifying the appearance of the nodes in the Preferences menu. Next, you should know that Robert Boudreau’s comprehensive user manual, available as a CTB file here, will help you become more familiar with the UI and its many features.

Features Of CherryTree

Print, Export, Import And Search

The program also allows users to import data from Notecase, Tuxcards, Basket, and Keepnote notebooks, define hyperlinks (which can link to Web pages, to nodes, or to files), print and export nodes to PDF format, organize the structure of nodes, search them using regular expressions, replace text strings in notes or in the names of nodes, and more.

Extensive Room For Personalization

Instead of simply inserting text and saving it, CherryTree gives you the option to do a lot more. Each note, or node as they are called here, has extensive room for personalization. You may select text, alter the size and style of the font, add bullet points, input photos, files, timestamps, and more, and even highlight specific passages.

Keyboard Shortcuts Speed

The core editor was more feature-rich than imagined. Spell Check, subscript/superscript, H1/H2/H3 toggling, case change commands, syntax highlighting for many common languages, and more (Spell Check may need to be activated from Settings > Rich Text). Keyboard shortcuts speed up almost everything.

Note Taking And Source Code Storage

Cherry Tree stores source codes and notes. It stores Java, C, PHP, JavaScript, LaTeX, Pascal, Perl, ASP, etc. source codes. The app allows code and note editing. Also defines hyperlinks. Hyperlinks lead to websites, nodes, and computer or network data.
